Mar. 15th, 2008 - TruthAIDS Speaks Out At Left Forum

Yesterday was day 14 of the Disparities: People & Places documentary with Dr. Mehret. She presented TruthAIDS work as part of the Left Forum on a panel discussing HIV prevention at Cooper Union.

Co-panelists were Dr. Bob Fullilove and Dr. Rodrick Wallace.

Mar. 9th, 2008 - UCLA Drama Performance Spotlights Dr. Mehret

We just came back today from shooting day 11, 12, and 13 of the Disparities: People & Places documentary in LA. The shoot featured a performance by Shea Scott, a young African-American student at UCLA Drama School.

Ms. Scott performed an original skit dedicated to Dr. Mehret Mandefro's work as a physician, public health practitioner and activist who has worked extensively with HIV infected and affected communities in the U.S., Botswana, South Africa, and Ethiopia.

Mar. 3rd, 2008 - BOSS Celebrates Black Womanhood Week

Today was the start of a week long event with Black Organization Of Soul Sisters (BOSS) Celebrating Black Womanhood Week at Barnard College.

Dr. Mehret Mandefro participated in a discussion forum on Black Women in the Arts & Academia: Using Research & Art as tools for Social Change.
