Feb. 29th, 2008 - PALMS Performance Is A Hit With Project54Tour

We just got back from a 3 day trip to Philadelphia (PA). We spent the past few days shooting day 6,7, and 8 of the Disparities: People & Places documentary with Dr. Mehret.

The highlight of the production was the E3 Center's PALMS (Preventing AIDS through Live Movement and Sound) Project with the youth.

Feb. 25th, 2008 - Dr. Mehret's Home Visits With The Fulliloves

Yesterday was day 5 of Disparities: People & Places documentary shoot. We paid a Home Visit to Dr. Mindy & Dr. Robert Fullilove in Englewood (NJ).

Both are well-renowned doctors at Columbia University and authors of various books such as Root Shock.

Feb. 23rd, 2008 - Students Join TruthCIRCLE With Dr. Mehret

We "officially" produced our first TruthCIRCLE with TruthAIDS and Dr. Mehret Mandefro yesterday.

The students of BOSS organization and a few friends volunteered to participate in an open discussion group on sex, relationships, and HIV/AIDS awareness as part of the Disparities: People & Places documentary.

Feb. 18th, 2008 - Disparities: People & Places (Harlem)

Yesterday was day 2 of the Disparities: People & Places production. We shot the first series of the short film entitled, "Home Visits With Dr. Mehret". Our production associate suggested that we also cover the housing crisis and the gentrification of Harlem.

It's an important issue, especially right now, and deeply entrenched in the urban crisis and the war on the black community in America (i.e., Post Katrina New Orleans).

Feb. 15th, 2008 - Project54Tour Launches Youth Training Program

CALLING ALL WRITERS, ART DIRECTORS, GRAPHIC DESIGNERS, EDITORS, VIDEOGRAPHERS, AND PHOTOGRAPHERS! ARE YOU YOUNG, BRIGHT, CREATIVE, TALENTED, AND PASSIONATE ABOUT USING MEDIA AS A TOOL TO TRANSFORM THE WORLD?

We are a cross-cultural, global media and education company currently holding a search to find the best and brightest new talent to join our production team as volunteers!

Finalists will have the opportunity to show us their stuff on location during an ongoing shoot of a documentary series we are currently producing in New York City, Philadelphia, and LA.

If selected, you will join our production team as it travels to a global destination this summer, as part of the Project54Tour Initiative, to shoot and produce a documentary.

Feb. 5th, 2008 - Dr. Mehret Speaks TruthAIDS At Columbia University

Today was the first day of an ongoing shoot for a project called Disparities: People & Places. We're shooting Part I of a IV Part documentary series with TruthAIDS.

The Founding Director of TruthAIDS, Dr. Mehret Mandefro was the keynote speaker at the Black Organization of Soul Sisters (BOSS) seminar. The topic of the discussion centered around Making Strides in Women's Health: Affecting Change in the Rates of HIV/AIDS on Women in Urban Communities.
